Jemila Jackson is a Social Worker, holding a Masters degree in Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto in Psychology. Everything that she does has to do with hope, change and transformation- from her counselling practice- Freedom Counselling & Psychotherapy Services in Pickering Ontario, 345 Kingston Road, L1V 1A1; to raising money for Sickle Cell Disease through the Ujima Sickle Cell Patient Emergency Fund. She has facilitated workshops at community organizations and academic institutions such as; Community Empowering Enterprises (CEE), Humber College, Centennial College and Ryerson University.
Jemila’s counselling practice focuses on adults experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma and anger management concerns. Jemila uses an eclectic model in counselling practice comprised of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution focused therapy, and mindfulness.
