York Region Psychological Services (YRPS) are based in Toronto and the GTA and have been operating since 2003. We have grown to a team of over 40 professionals and support a large and diverse client base that now extends throughout Ontario as a result of the practice of online sessions.
ASSESSMENTS
YRPS perform assessments to support:
Medical Legal profession, including insurance companies, assessment centres, lawyers, rehabilitation clinics and WSIB, for Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVAs) and work-related injuries
Individuals seeking assessment of their personal circumstances, education and career possibilities.
COUNSELLING
YRPS offer counselling services to support:
Individuals who were injured in an MVA or work-related incident and require therapy to enable them to adjust and return to normal living
Individuals, couples, children and families who are seeking support to enable them to address mental health issues and to live healthy and meaningful lives in today’s challenging world.

YRPS utilise the services of over 30 qualified therapists with a wide range of skills and offer counselling in more than 15 languages.

Our Thornhill office is open *by appointment only*
Assessments and counselling can be scheduled at this office and other locations by contacting our Administration team.
Our Thornhill office and other locations are open for in-person assessments and counselling. We follow current health protocols for any face to face meetings.
Some assessments and all counselling can also be conducted via online sessions and all therapists offer this service.
YRPS offer a full range of medical legal Assessments to support individuals who have been involved in a motor vehicle or other personal-related accident.
We provide counselling services to help clients recover from any underlying or resulting mental health issues as a result of those accidents. Click here to learn more.
All counselling sessions are conducted by qualified professionals. Sessions are usually 50 minutes and cost $210-225. Exact pricing can be confirmed by contacting our office.
OHIP does not provide coverage for assessments or counselling.
Private assessments and Counselling are typically covered by an extended health care plan. You should check with your plan provider for the service offered and any policy limits. We can offer guidance on costs in this situation.
YRPS regularly conduct gifted assessments for young children and adolescents.
Unlike many public or private schools, the wait time to be assessed at YRPS is usually less than six weeks. For more information, click here.
