Christine Nicholson, MSW, RSW

Christine Nicholson is a Registered Social Worker who has been a practicing counselor for over 20 years. She works with individuals, couples and families as well as children addressing concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship breakdown, life transitions and chronic conditions. She provides therapy for children through play-based therapy utilizing a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Model to assist children to better manage their emotions and behaviours.

In addition to her private practice, she works on a multidisciplinary team in a primary health care setting – a Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic.  She has extensive experience in the area of managing mood, relationship conflicts and communication, coping with grief and loss in the area of relationships and personal health. Models of therapy are tailored to your needs and include: Mindfulness-based CBT (Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy), Solution Focussed and Narrative Therapy.

Christine provides a safe and confidential setting to find direction and hope for yourself or your family. Often the clients she serves feel overwhelmed by the issues they are facing. Within her professional practice, her clients feel understood and gain empowerment, healing and balance in their lives.

Christine earned her BSW and MSW in Toronto, at Ryerson University and University of Toronto.  Her private practice is in Newmarket.
